Girl has her hair cut, eyebrows shaved in another case of jealousy
VietNamNet Bridge – Police of Ky Anh district of the central province of Ha Tinh are investigating a case in which a 18-year-old girl accused a group of people kidnapping, torturing, cutting her hair and shaving her eyebrows for jealousy.
Le Thi Thu, 19, a resident of Ky Van commune, Ky Anh district, is a trainee at a barber’s shop in Ky Anh town. At about 6pm on April 17, a taxi of Mai Linh parked in front of the shop. A woman in the car phoned Thu to invite her to go out. No doubt, Thu accepted the invitation and left the shop.
Just stepping away from the shop, Thu was pulled into the car by a woman. There were one man and three women in the car.
Seeing abnormal signs, the manager of the barber’s shop phoned Thu’s family to notify them about the case. The family was frightened and searched for her.
It was not until around 7.30pm the same day, the family discovered Thu lying unconscious on the roadside, about 500m from their house. Her face was visible, her hair and eyelashes were cut and shaved.
The family took the girl to the General Hospital of Ky Anh for emergency. Two days after the incident, the girl was still in a state of coma and seizures. Doctors initially diagnosed Thu with brain damage.
On April 21, Ky Anh district police announced to arrest the group of people who kidnapped and tortured Thu. At least five people were arrested for their involvement in the case.
The subjects in custody include: Tang Thi Phuong (born 1994, residing in Ky Tan commune), Truong Thi Quynh (1994, Ky Anh town), Truong Thi Hong Tham (born 1996), Vo Thi Thuy (born 1994, Ky Phong commune) and Tran Van Tuan (born 1994).

The remaining subject – Le Thi Phuong Thao – has fled to Hanoi.
Of the above subjects, three are employees of the Mai Linh Ha Tinh Taxi and a 12th grade of Nguyen Thi Bich Chau High School in Ky Anh Town.
The case was related to jealousy. Phuong was in relationship with a man named Vu. Recently Phuong doubted that Vu and Thu had a loving relationship so she repeatedly sent threatening messages to Thu.
According to Thu’s family, Thu and Vu are cousins. Thu explained it to Phuong but she did not believe. Phuong and her friends many times threatened Thu before kidnapped and tortured her on April 17.

Chut Ethnic People in Rao Tre Hamlet
It is the only ethnic group in Ha Tinh who live in Rao Tre Hamlet at the foot of Ca Day Mountain in Huong Lien Commune, Huong Khe District. The hamlet consists of 25 households with over 100 people.
According to some documents, the Chut ethnic group was found in 1920 when they lived gregariously in leaf-made tents, camps or caves in Cua Ba, Ban Quat areas lying in between the two provinces of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh. They led a nomadic life in wild forests. In 1966, Ha Tinh Province's border guards discovered them and helped them settle down in Huong Vinh of Huong Khe, then later in Rao Tre Hamlet.
After 40 years of integrating in the community, the Chut people know how to cultivate wet rice, raise poultry and cattle and build their houses. Their children can go to school. However, the province’s leaders should pay more attention to issues to promote the socio-economic and cultural development of Chut ethnic group.

Xuan Thanh Beach, 5km from Hoi Estuary to the south, stretches over 5km with moderate salty seawater and slightly sloping sandy banks.
Along the beach is My Duong fresh water rivulet running from Hong Linh Mountain. It is not deep but never dries up. Passing over this little stream on a bamboo bridge, visitors will arrive at 100m-wide casuarina-tree forest before reaching the sea.
With its beautiful beach together with better services, Xuan Thanh has become a captivate destination. Coming here, tourists not only have a chance to swim in clean and blue water but also visit a typical cultural area with different cultural and historical relics related to great poet Nguyen Du, poet and scholar Nguyen Cong Tru, etc, and enjoy a unique artistic genre - Co Dam Ca tru (Classical chamber music).
